BBC Examines New Fitness Trend: Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Is electrical muscle stimulation, the growing new fitness trend in fitness, too good to be true? A new BBC feature examined the technology, explaining that “the electrical stimulation of your muscles speeds up the effect of exercising and strengthening. So you can do a 20-minute workout that is equivalent to one lasting 90 minutes if you weren’t wearing the [EMS] body suit.” The article cited several experts and secondary sources, including a clinical study from 2011, that suggest the jury is still out on the true effectiveness of EMS.
