Do Fit People Drink More Alcohol? New Study Says Yes
People who exercise more tend to drink more, a new study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise concluded. The research adds to several other studies that resulted in similar findings, as reported by the New York Times. Even after adjusting for age and other factors, the researchers found that the fittest men and women in the study were about twice as likely (or more) to be moderate drinkers, imbibing up to 14 times per week, compared to those who were less fit. Kerem Shuval, who led the new study, told the Times that people who exercise should keep track of their alcohol intake since most people do not link the two behaviors. Read more.
