Fitness Industry to Receive $30B from GYMS Act if Passed
Few were hit harder by the coronavirus pandemic than those in the fitness industry. From small, local gyms to national chains, the COVID-19 shutdowns took a toll on virtually everyone whose income relied upon indoor exercise facilities. Fortunately, it appears help may be soon on the way for these hard-working Americans. The bipartisan GYMS Act would establish a $30 billion recovery fund for business owners in the wellness field. Debra Strougo, co-founder of RowHouse, New York, and Justin Marcis of Windy City Strength & Conditioning in Chicago spoke out in support of the act, according to a recent article from Club Industry.
