New York Times Gives Wellness Challenge for Mental Health Month
While May is Mental Health Awareness Month, it would be fair to say that 2020 functioned as a mental health awareness year. It is important to process negative emotions, like those brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, rather than suppress or ignore them. In fact, dealing with stress activates the amygdala, which “serves as the brain’s emotional alarm system and is associated with the stress response,” according to a recent article in the New York Times.
